Competition Divisions Beginning Beader: 1-2 Years Experience Intermediate Beader: 3-4 Years Experience Advanced Beader: 5+ Years Experience Competition Categories Wearable Art: Necklaces, bracelets, gloves, clothing, purses Sculptural Art: Free standing work, wall hangings AIKO Beads: Wearable or sculptural Rules for Designers Submitted designs must use at least 80% TOHO beads in any of the sizes or shapes. Embellinshing with crystals, stones, silver and any other materials must comprise a maximum of 20% of the overall design. AIKO category must be all AIKO beads with the exception of the findings. All work must be original. Class, book or magazine projects may not be submitted. Techniques learned from any of these sources may be used. No published patterns or downloaded images may be reproduced. You must register with your local store to participate. Materials must be purchased from the store in which you register. Submitted work must have been done within the year preceding the deadline of April 6, 2012. Your entries must be submitted to your local store. Your local store will choose the winning piece. The winning pieces from each store will be submitted to your store's TOHO vendor. A completed entry form must accompany each entry. Collaborative may be submitted but only one prize will be awarded for work. Entries may not be submitted if they have been entered in any previous shows, contests or articles. TOHO Beads retains the right to use the work of prize winners in a promotional way including book publications, publicity or photographs with credit to the contributing artist. Directions to be provided by artist if required. Rules for Designers Registration with a distributor is required Deadline for submissions to stores is April 6, 2012. Stores will hold their own judging and submit 1 winning piece from each category Final judging will take place at the Bead & Button Show in June 2012 Entries are to be submitted to the distributor that you registered with. All submissions will be returned by the distributors to the stores that submitted them A store entry form must accompany the designer entry form. Store employees, families and affiliates of distributors may not submit entries.
